Hawaiian French Toast By Cooking for Busy People with Dawn Hall


Hawaiian French Toast 15 minutes This is one of my favorite French toast recipes! Ingredients 1/3 cup fat-free vanilla yogurt 1/2 teaspoon coconut extract 5 egg whites 2 tablespoons firmly packed shredded coconut 1/2 of 1 (16-ounce) package King's Hawaiian Sweet bread or Hawaiian Sweet bread rolls Instructions Preheat the griddle to high. In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the yogurt, coconut extract, egg whites, and coconut until well blended. Set aside. Cut the King's Hawaiian Sweet bread in half. Save the other half for use at another time. Cut the half loaf of bread into 8 (1/2-inch thick) palm-size slices. Dip the bread slices in the egg mixture, coating both sides of the bread. Spray the preheated griddle with nonstick cooking spray. Cook the slices on the prepared griddle until golden brown on both sides. Yield: 4 (2-piece)servings Calories per serving: 203 (19% fat); Total fat: 4 g; Cholesterol: 8 mg; Carbohydrate: 30 g; Dietary Fiber: 1 g; Protein: 10 g; Sodium: 347 mg Diabetic Exchanges: 2 starch, 1/2 lean meat Instructions to prepare the suggested meal Set the timer for 30 minutes. 30 minutes before the meal Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
